New FILTER Album In The Works For Early 2008 Release

Singer Richard Patrick (FILTER, ARMY OF ANYONE) posted a voice message on the FILTERMySpace page yesterday confirming that a new FILTER album is in the works — tentatively due in early 2008.

He said: "It's official: I am totally cramming on a new FILTER record. I'm working with some amazing people — all new people… A-list producers — actually, one A-list producer. The only person that's old, or from the other records, is a little guy named Rae DiLeo.

"This is absolutely the most amazing stuff I've ever done, and I'm really proud of it.

"[As far as a possible release date is concerned] we're looking sometime into 2008 — probably, maybe springish.

"[I'm] very proud of it… and, yeah, there's a lot of really cool people working n this with me, and I'll let you know who those guys are when we get closer to a release date. But it's on — it's on, it's coming."

FILTER's last studio album, "The Amalgamut", came out in 2002. A tour in support of the CD ended abruptly a few weeks in when Patrick decided he needed to go to rehab. He has since tattooed his date of sobriety, September 28, 2002, on his forearm.
